Psychological Expertise You Can Rely On
For the Cases, Clients, and Organizations You Serve
Whether you’re an attorney building a case, a court seeking credible psychological expertise, a clinician navigating a complex referral, or an agency looking for training and consultation support — you’ve come to the right place.
I’m Dr. Michelle Garcia, Psy.D., a Licensed Clinical Forensic Psychologist with deep experience across private practice, county systems, and institutional settings. I bring the same standard of thoroughness, ethical grounding, and professional credibility to every engagement — whether that’s a single evaluation, ongoing case consultation, or an organizational training initiative.
Who I Work With
I partner with a range of professionals and organizations whose work intersects with mental health and the legal system, including attorneys across immigration, criminal defense, civil litigation, and family law; courts and judicial bodies; psychiatrists and physicians seeking psychological consultation or evaluation support; mental health clinicians navigating complex or court-involved cases; law enforcement agencies; and healthcare organizations, county agencies, and community organizations seeking training, auditing, or compliance consultation.
What I offer
Psychological evaluations
Comprehensive evaluations for legal and clinical purposes — immigration cases including hardship, asylum, VAWA, U-Visa, T-Visa, SIJS, N-648, and competency; and forensic evaluations for civil and criminal matters. All reports are thorough, well-documented, and written with legal standards in mind.
Expert witness testimony
Available for civil and criminal proceedings, offering credible, well-prepared testimony that translates complex psychological findings into language judges and juries can understand. Grounded in legally and ethically sound practices that uphold the integrity of the court.
Attorney & case consulting
Consulting on the psychological dimensions of cases — helping you understand your client's mental state, anticipate psychological arguments from opposing counsel, and prepare for depositions and trial. Available by phone, video, or in person.
Training & professional development
Training for legal professionals, mental health clinicians, law enforcement, and organizations on psychological trauma and its presentation in legal and institutional contexts. Topics include trauma and the law, working with court-involved individuals, ethics and professional boundaries, and immigration-related psychological issues.
Organizational consulting
Drawing on experience in clinical auditing, provider oversight, documentation compliance, and healthcare records systems, I offer consulting to agencies and organizations with complex clinical and administrative needs — including leading e-record system development, auditing clinicians for regulatory compliance, and consulting on documentation standards.
